WA: Corby's release hinges on prisoner transfer agreement: Rudd

Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD says SCHAPELLE CORBY'S return to Australia may hinge on Australia
becoming the first country to negotiate a prisoner transfer deal with Indonesia.

Psychiatrist JONATHAN PHILLIPS has warned the 32-year-old convicted drug trafficker
will not survive her sentence if she remains in Bali's Kerobokan Prison.

Queensland Premier ANNA BLIGH is backing the family's push for SCHAPELLE to serve her
jail time in Australia.

Mr RUDD says CORBY is receiving support from Australia's consul-general .. but the
problem is that no prisoner transfer agreement exists between Australia and Indonesia.

He's told Fairfax Radio Network even if the two governments arrived at an agreement
.. it's not clear if CORBY would satisfy Indonesian decrees allowing such a transfer.
